S.R.B. Cylinder Tube
Description
S.R.B. Cylinder Tube – Machining Process & Characteristics
Machining Process
1. Skiving
Process:
A dedicated skiving tool is used to machine the inner surface of the steel tube, removing the rough inner layer. This step rapidly removes a large amount of material, bringing the inner diameter close to its final size.
Features:
Skiving effectively corrects inner wall geometry deviations and eliminates surface unevenness, providing a solid foundation for the subsequent roller burnishing process.
2. Roller Burnishing
Process:
After skiving, a roller burnishing tool is applied to the inner surface. The tool rolls under high pressure along the bore, compressing and densifying the surface layer to achieve a higher surface finish.
Features:
Roller burnishing further reduces surface roughness while increasing surface hardness and wear resistance.
Characteristics of S.R.B. Hydraulic Steel Tubes
1. High Surface Finish and Low Roughness
Characteristic:
The inner surface finish of S.R.B.-processed tubes is extremely smooth, typically achieving Ra 0.2–0.4 µm. This smooth surface reduces friction between moving components and improves the efficiency of hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
2. Excellent Dimensional Accuracy
Characteristic:
S.R.B. machining enables precise control of the inner diameter, usually within H8/H9 tolerance ranges. This ensures smooth piston movement inside the tube and reliable sealing performance.
3. Enhanced Wear Resistance and Durability
Characteristic:
Roller burnishing not only improves surface finish but also densifies the surface layer, increasing surface hardness. This enhances wear resistance and extends the service life of the cylinder tube.
4. Improved Fatigue Strength
Characteristic:
S.R.B. processing reduces microscopic surface defects such as micro-cracks and burrs, which helps improve fatigue strength under dynamic loads and prevents stress concentration and cracking during long-term operation.
5. High Production Efficiency
Characteristic:
Compared to honing, S.R.B. technology offers higher machining speeds and is well suited for mass production. It is particularly cost-effective for large quantities of standard-size products.
