SCM440 Hard Chrome-Plated Steel Bar

Description
Chromium-molybdenum steel (Chromoly steel) is an alloy steel containing chromium and molybdenum. It offers high strength, high hardness, excellent toughness, and superior wear resistance, making it ideal for manufacturing high-strength components such as automotive and motorcycle parts, gears, shafts, and bolts. SCM440 (commonly known as 42CrMo4 Steel) is one of the most widely used chromium-molybdenum alloy steels.
SCM440 Hard Chrome-Plated Steel Bar
Feature
  • Stable Composition and High Purity: Features a stable chemical composition, low levels of harmful elements, and high steel purity, ensuring consistent quality after heat treatment.
  • Uniform Hardness and Excellent Hardenability: Chromium provides excellent hardness penetration, while molybdenum contributes to uniform hardness and high tensile strength.
  • Balanced Toughness and Wear Resistance: Offers a well-balanced combination of tensile strength, toughness, and wear resistance, with excellent performance under high-temperature stress.
  • Good Machinability After Heat Treatment: Responds well to heat treatment and remains relatively easy to machine afterward.
Application
Main Applications
Automotive and Motorcycle Parts: Engines, gears, shafts, bolts, pistons, etc.
Mechanical Components: Various high-strength, wear-resistant parts, such as machine columns, guide rods, and tie rods.
High-Temperature and High-Pressure Equipment: Used in manufacturing high-temperature and high-pressure components, valves, and pressure vessels for petrochemical and refining equipment.
